Question by Mark. If you want to begin a successful home based business,  how much money is needed…? Can you begin with tiny to no money..? I need as much info as possible. Thanks!

It truly depends on what YOU have a drive and passion for. That is where you should begin and you figure it out from there. Why pay anything at all for something to just do? Make it your career, your life. There are options out there, direct sales, your own products, MLM or whatever. There are many DS companies for $0. to $350. and you might well enjoy it. Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay etc..Or recruit all day long for a MLM and do nothing else for a small investment. Or sell what you are good at. Products or yourself.

I own two at home businesses. One I started from the ground up using my own products with an investment of about $4000. over three month, 2 years ago. BUT I own it all, and it is all mine and has been very successful so far!

My second one I do not do the products I have a drop shipper. It cost me nothing and it too is very successful. I totally love both of them, they are who I am. I am passionate about them both, and work them equally 18 hrs a day. You have to be committed to run a home business, advertise, sell, family, household duties, take a lap top where ever I go etc.

Both of my websites are only $7.00 a month apiece and they have never had a problem. I paid $10.00 apiece to register my business names. And my business lisences cost me $36.00 a year for both city and state. You can’t get by with totally $.0, but for under $100, you can get started!

Good luck!

It really depends on what kind of a business you are looking to start – if one that you are really doing to showcase a talent you have, like cooking or childcare, then you’ll have to factor in a lot more equipment costs probably than one with a home-based sales company, where you are your own boss but under the umbrella of a well-known name. I have 2 home based businesses where I sell products, one is a household name and the start-up cost was only $10, the other, more widely known in country areas and the older generations, cost me $74 including tax and shipping. I utilize both as I love their products, and they are (for the most part) totally different. If you do something like this, start-up cost is minimal but then you decide on samples, extra brochures and catalogs, etc.

Now, if you were looking to start say a day care or a home cleaning business, then your start up cost is going to be more as you are going to have to get everything you need before you can say “I’m in business!”

If you want to email me, iluvnubians831@aol.com, I’ll try to brainstorm ideas with you, if you know what you are wanting to do.

The easiest way is to be someone’s affiliate (selling other people’s products). You need to search which product to sell.
As an affiliate marketer you need 3 things in a program to maximize your income:

    1) A product that people actually NEED.
    2) A product that pays GENEROUS commissions.
    3) A product that pays you residual monthly income so you can make a sale one time and get paid FOREVER.

    Good luck.
